SaarGummi Slovakia is the successor company of ContiTech Sealing Systems Slovakia, which was established from ContiTech Profile Slovakia (formerly ContiTech Vegum).
ContiTech Vegum was established on June 1, 1994, as a joint venture between the German company ContiTech Profile GmbH Hannover and the Slovak company Vegum Inc. Dolné Vestenice. This joint venture continued the long-standing tradition of rubber production in Dolné Vestenice, which began in 1952.
Continental becomes the 100% owner of the company by purchasing the remaining ownership share from Vegum Inc. Subsequently, the company was renamed to ContiTech Profile Slovakia
In 2005, the company became part of the multinational SaarGummi group, subsequently the company was renamed to SaarGummi Slovakia. This name change reflected the change in ownership and international expansion of the company.
